Google is currently the most favorite search engine used by many people. Initially, Google was a thesis that Larry Page and Sergey worked on to complete their Ph.D. at Stanford University in 1995. According to this thesis, Google, formerly known as Backrub, is superior to other search engines because it focuses on relationships between websites using primarily links when the others concentrate on rank information based on how often searches with the same terms appear.

The Google feature, which used to be just a search engine, expanded to other features such as email, video (youtube), and even maps to determine the location point. Location points in maps are increasing and used by enormous business centers, government, and public facilities. The nature of allowing additions easily by users make Google Maps even more developed and has big data. This data can be used for various purposes, for example, business and marketing research.
Manual data extraction on Google Maps requires considerable effort. Therefore, BotSol developers invented an automatic google maps data extraction. There are two versions, a free and a premium version, depending on which data you want to get. Of course, the premium has better features. Anyone can download the apps on the link below.
Here are the requirements and how to use them.
Requirements:
- Windows OS (the official website says, BotSol can run in any version of windows)
- .Net Framework 4 or higher
- The users must have Updated Google Chrome on their PC
How to use:
1. Install the BotSol apps
When it’s finished, select the Google Crawler Free bot (if you’re using the free version). After that, a Google Maps pop up will appear automatically
If google chrome has been updated but does not appear automatically, then there are several possibilities. First, the chrome update is not compatible. The solution is to download the driver at http://chromedriver.storage.googleapis.com/index.html
When google chrome still doesn’t appear automatically, check the path in BotSol by clicking help-about – advanced options. Remove the “74 or 76” in BotSol’s path. The path should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Botsol\Botsol Crawler.
2. Enter keywords on google maps, then click enter.
3. Click Start Bot then enter how much data you want to extract. If the network is good and you want to extract all the data, enter the number 9999
4. Enter the desired delay time. If you want random, you can enter numbers 2-5
5. Wait until all the data is extracted. When it’s finished, click export to excel.
